Pyruvate
embryo development
relate
embryo development
GO:0009790
Homo sapiens
Pyruvate and glucose uptakes on day 4 were significantly higher by embryos that went on to form blastocysts than by embryos that failed to develop to the blastocyst stage. Glucose uptakes were greatest in those blastocysts of highest grade, whereas pyruvate uptakes were similar irrespective of blastocyst grade, indicating that glucose is the more important nutrient for the human blastocyst.

Pyruvate
embryo development
relate
embryo development
GO:0009790
Homo sapiens
Non-invasive microanalytical methods have been devised to study the energy metabolism of single human preimplantation embryos. Pyruvate, which is added routinely to all media used to culture human embryos, is consumed throughout the preimplantation period.

Rapamycin
embryo development
affect
trophectodermal cell differentiation
GO:0001829
Mus musculus
Rapamycin, a specific inhibitor of the kinase mTOR/FRAP/RAFT1, blocks amino acid stimulation of embryo outgrowth, demonstrating that mTOR is required for the initiation of trophectoderm protrusive activity.
